Here are listed pointers to neat-oh railroading resources. When you are out railfanning, don't forget to Look, Listen and Live!

  • Rob Hoffer maintains a list of Upcoming Railroadiana Events. he has pointers to Railroadiana items for sale, and a homepage for classic railroad cars.

Tourist stuff

  • Passenger service returns to the Northwestern Pacific Railroad! Get more details! This line was also known as North Coast Railroad and the Eureka Southern, and has recently been operated by the California Northern Railroad and Southern Pacific. A three-weekend railfan passenger service occurred in October 1996. The railroad hopes to start regualr passenger service April in 1997, flood waters permitting.

    They had an article in the travel section of the Sunday San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner, December 1st, 1996.

    • The Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. This tourist railroad operates just south-west of Yosemite National Park.

    • Northern California's own Napa Valley Wine Train home page contains information, timetable, travel food menu, and some history. Their engine is an Alco PA-1 from VIA, the Canadian national railroad.

    • Western Railway Museum. The Western Railway Museum is located south-west of Sacramento, California. They have a lot of trolley and interurban cars, plus restored passenger cars, and freight cars, and some cabooses. They have a small grassy area for picnics. The railroad tracks are black, dashed lines. Zoom out for highway details.

    • Traveling in Europe? The Eurostar connects Brussels and Paris with London, via the Channel Tunnel. Read Erik Evard's report's about his trips.
